It's undeniable that Shaheen Afridi possesses an almost limitless potential that instills a sense of awe. Gifted with a tall and lanky physique, along with the ability to deliver high-speed deliveries, Afridi also shares a striking similarity with his well-known namesake – he can pack a powerful punch with the bat too. When you factor in his left-arm bowling variations, it's no wonder there's a tremendous buzz surrounding this individual in Pakistan.

Born into a family of seven, Shaheen stands as the youngest among them and arguably, the most adept as well. Despite his profound passion for cricket since childhood, he primarily engaged in tennis-ball cricket until his elder brother Riaz – a one-Test wonder for Pakistan – directed him toward the real game. Riaz, who also serves as Shaheen's source of inspiration and mentor, has paved the way for his transition.


Shaheen's journey up the ranks has been impressively swift, bolstered by his participation in the Pakistan Super League. This platform has afforded young talents like him the opportunity to learn from the best in the field, strengthening his resolve. Despite his tender age, Shaheen has already displayed resilience and growth. While he remains relatively raw and his domestic career has only recently gained momentum, there are clear indications that he could pose a significant challenge in the years to come, contingent on Pakistan's management of his potential. Making his international debut during the 2018 T20I series against West Indies at home, Shaheen showcased his impressive skill set. After attracting attention for a while, he earned his first ODI call-up for the Asia Cup later that same year.


Shaheen also left his mark in the 2019 World Cup, despite not featuring in every match. His ability to generate impressive pace and execute variations during crucial moments led to 16 wickets in the tournament. In an otherwise disappointing campaign for Pakistan, Shaheen emerged as a standout performer. Although he made his Test debut early in 2019, there's a noteworthy consideration about managing his workload due to his susceptibility to injuries. Currently, it appears prudent to reserve his talents for shorter formats, where he can be a formidable force.

Govt increases toll tax on motorways , here’s the new rates

 LAHORE: The National Highway Authority (NHA) has raised the toll charges for the Lahore-Islamabad Motorway (M2) once again, as reported by ARY News. As outlined in the official notice, the updated toll rates for the Lahore-Islamabad Motorway (M-2) became effective on August 26 and will be in place for the next 12 months. Under the revised tariff structure, the toll for cars has been elevated by Rs 3.7 per kilometer, resulting in a new rate of Rs 1100. Additionally, the toll for wagons has been increased to Rs 1840. Moreover, there has been an upward adjustment of Rs 7.22, bringing the coaster fare to Rs 2,590, and the toll charge for coaches has surged by 10.29, reaching Rs 3,690. According to the notification, the toll levy for trailers on the Lahore-Islamabad motorway has been elevated to Rs 6,170.
